There are a variety of knee resurfacing surgeries available and some are more appropriate for specific sports and patients. The Pickleball Knee, a signature process at Weir Orthopaedics, is designed to maximize your opportunities to continue the game you love.

We start gathering data about you and your knee. This data helps determine the style of knee resurfacing that maintains ligament integrity and helps maximize your cutting and lateral movements after surgery. This is important for our paddle sport athletes.

A Custom Surgery Plan

Every pickler is unique, and so is every knee surgery. Dr. Weir reviews your health history, imaging studies, and functional assessments to create a personalized surgical plan, which you will receive via a video sent to your phone. The plan will be designed to maximize your opportunities to stay on the court.

An in-person meeting with Dr. Weir allows for a detailed discussion about your knee surgery and your game post-surgery. This meeting ensures all your concerns are addressed and your paddle sports goals align with the surgical plan.
Surgery

Your knee surgery is the culmination of understanding your playing style and unique anatomy, combined with the latest medical technology. Dr. Weir uses proprietary surgical techniques performed at our advanced ambulatory surgery center to provide our picklers with a surgical experience just for them.
A Pickleball Knee

Begin your recovery at home on the night of your surgery (or choose to stay with one of our rehab partners.) We will help arrange everything you need, including medical staff, rehab equipment, medications, and detailed instructions. Dr. Weir will closely monitor your progress, supporting you every step of the way. Outpatient therapy starts with the goal of returning to paddle sports so you can get back to the court.
